Whole30 Blue Apron Review

15 Feb

When Whole30 meal prepping is overwhelming and life is busy, Blue Apron to the rescue! Their new, Whole30 approved selection takes the hassle out (and let’s be honest, the thinking/planning/grocery shopping) out of Whole30. It’s a great way to give yourself a break and still enjoy delicious meals, all compliant, straight to your doorstep. This is my Whole30 Blue Apron review.

This half roasted chicken and veggies is whole30, paleo, and perfectly roasted!

This post is sponsored by the awesome people at Blue Apron. As always, all opinions are 100% my own. Thanks for supporting Physical Kitchness!

I’ve done many many Whole30 rounds, meal planning is my gig, and being a Type A crazy mom when it comes to food is pretty much a valid description of my life. But round after round, somehow my life seems to get crazier and crazier. How.does.that.happen? Just when I thought as a food blogger I wouldn’t need help with meals, I found myself smack dab in the middle of a Whole30 with two small children, a husband away for work, and overwhelmed with all the daily tasks of life.

Cue Blue Apron to the rescue. Blue Apron has partnered with Whole30 program to bring delicious Whole30 approved meals! These meals will be on the menu through the end of February (order cutoff is 6 days beforehand).

I have done meal delivery services a total of three times in my entire life. It’s not a necessity that I felt I needed when I’m always in the kitchen recipe testing. I’ve also never done any sort of grocery delivery service, because truth be told, I’m afraid my order will be wrong and the essentials I need to make a meal won’t show up.

Blue Apron Whole30 Selection

Seems like lately I’ve become insanely busy with Physical Kitchness, laundry, kids’ activities, appointments, and managing our messy home. Do I have food in the house? Yes, of course. But is it ‘dinner-worthy’ food? Debatable. If I’m working on recipes for dessert and breakfast, dinner can be a little dicey when it’s 5:30pm and the kids are HANGRY.

That’s why I decided to give Blue Apron a whirl. When I heard of their new Whole30 approved selection, it was like an angel on my shoulder said, “give yourself some grace and just do it”.

No grocery shopping, no meal planning. Just a box at your door with all the fresh ingredients and beautiful instruction cards that are pretty much food blogger porn. The convenience has been everything for me.

Blue Apron Whole30 meals

Time and time again one of the biggest complaints I hear from friends that want to try a Whole30 is the time it takes to prep and plan. I get it – 30 days of no grains, no dairy, no soy, no sugar, no processed ANYTHING can be intimidating at first. And being unsure about what’s compliant is scary. So Blue Apron has made it easy.

I was really impressed by the packaging and freshness of all the ingredients – nothing funky or processed, no spoiled veggies., everything neatly in one little box and ready to go.

What’s even better? The meals are sophisticated enough for a date night in with your hunk (what’s cuter than cooking together?) yet simple and tasty enough for 1 and 3 year olds. ‘Cause if the kids don’t like it, what’s the point? My little ones devoured this roasted chicken and rosemary vegetables. Happy and full littles = relieved and less stressed momma.

Another yummy (and easy to make) dinner we had was this baked cod in tomato sauce with roasted potatoes and collard greens. The fish was absolutely beautiful and you could even save the perfectly seasoned, savory sauce for any leftovers you have staring at you in the fridge. Win/win.

I say with 100% certainty Blue Apron gives me a bit of sanity when I am stressed about a busy week ahead. If you’ve been following my journey on Instagram, you know that 2018 has been deeded my year of grace, and healthy meals delivered to me is just one way I treat myself for a break without feeling guilty about eating junk! Hallelujah to that!

The presentation of the meal is AMAZING; it looks just as beautiful as yours Chrissa. The crisp veggies look SOOO good, and I love that kind of chicken too. That’s such a blessing that you were able to try it, because I know your plate is so full.

I’m bummed it was only for a limited time. I really enjoyed not needing to plan those 2 meals a week and they were delicious!
