Paleo Orange Creamsicle Slushie

20 Jun

Naturally sweetened, paleo orange creamsicle slushie. It’s the perfect healthy summer treat with loads of sweet, citrus flavor. And just three simple ingredients make this cool dessert too easy not to make over and over again.

This post is sponsored by the awesome people at Summer Citrus from South Africa. As always, all opinions are 100% my own. Thanks for supporting Physical Kitchness!

My 3 1/2 year old thinks we need to get frozen yogurt every single day after preschool.

It’s my fault, really. One Friday afternoon I thought, “Oh! I’ll be cool mom and make it an end-of-week tradition to get fro yo before we sit in brutal weekend traffic!” The problem is, little kids don’t know Monday from Friday, so every day after school we have a long conversation (some tears included) about why we aren’t getting ‘ice cream’ that day.

Trying to be rational as a three year old is like negotiating with terrorists. It’s just not gonna happen.

“I’m sorry buddy, it’s not Friday. We can get ice cream on Friday”

“Waaaaaah! Sniff sniff. FINE! Can we go to Legoland then?”….SIGH.

Maybe I need to stop being so fun. Just be the mom that’s like, “here’s a ball, go play outside”. Nah, I’d be like, “here’s a ball, go play outside. Oh, and I made you this paleo orange creamsicle slushie too. You’re welcome you cute little gremlins.”

#momoftheyear over here. Let’s all start being lazier – set the bar suuuuuper low. Mmmmk?

Luckily we can pull off a stupid lazy 3-ingredient treat for the kids with this paleo orange creamsicle slushie made with juicy Summer Citrus from South Africa oranges. Always fresh, always full of amazing citrus flavor, always kid friendly. Truly the only ingredient you need to make these healthy summer slushies, but add a few simple additions to pump up the flavor. You won’t be sorry!

You also won’t be sorry if you enter Summer Citrus from South Africa’s 2018 Sweet Summer sweepstakes and win a $1,000 Visa gift card. That’s a lot of oranges and Legoland admissions….just sayin’.

This healthy, naturally sweetened slushie is perfect for summer and healthy!

Maybe I’m not ashamed to say our summer is going to be a low-key one. I know that summer treats like this paleo orange creamsicle slushie in the driveway with a bucket of sidewalk chalk and running through the sprinklers will make just as many quality memories as a fancy vacation or endless activities. Plus when I can bust this kid-friendly recipe out in two minutes flat, with just three ingredients, I call that a winning mom moment and winning summer refresher. Low key, simple, healthy – totally my jam.

And who said I can’t add a splash of vodka if the kiddos are getting a little crazy? Just stating options…

Check out all these amazing recipes you can make using all the citrus products from Summer Citrus of South Africa and be sure to also enter to win the $1,000 Visa gift card HERE.
